29/05 - Piadina, Piada, Pida and CrescionePiadina or piada is a type of Italian flatbread, it’s a typical product of Romagna. It's made with lard (or olive oil), white flour, salt and water. The dough is traditionally cook on a terracotta dish (called in the Romagnolo dialect “teggia”). Piadina is usually sold immediately after preparation in specialized shops called piadinerie, where you can also find cheese, ham, vegetables and what do you want, inside a Piadina, this is called Crescione. People all around Italy eat Piadina, because is well known everywhere in Italy, but the real one, the tasty one is only available here in Romagna, you have to eat it just after its preparation.
